The event is run as a non-profit, low-cost event. It is a joint-effort of all Softwerkskammer groups, the community of all German-speaking Software Craft groups. It will be much like a retreat. We will be there for 48 hours to collaborate and share ideas. There will be:
We will not only spend the days together but also the nights. And – believe it or not – programmers and testers are great company! There will be lots of opportunities to have fun; starting with simple chit-chat about hiking, to playing board games, dancing and any activity you can think of.
SoCraTes is an international conference, and the conference's language is English. We cordially ask you to keep all conversations in English, even for colloquial discussions.

We are fully aware that an in-person conference can be energy draining.
Traveling to an unknown location and meeting many new people is not automatically a positive experience for everyone.
But our community needs input from participants who are not experienced conference attendees or speakers.
For this reason, some of our participants volunteer as ConferenceBuddies.
They commit to supporting you in attending the conference. They could, for example, meet with you before the conference starts, and explore the conference venue. Or they will be the person you can always walk up to during the conference.
Head over to the #buddies Slack channel and find your ConferenceBuddy, or offer to be one yourself.
